Webmail inbox gives message - An unexpected error has occurred

As of this morning at My Webmail gives a message "An unexpected error has occurred", the "My account" page shows (inbox 43) but the "inbox" says "empty email list". I am using a chrome browser and the same issue shows with firefox. I have logged a problem with the service desk who has escalated, but nobody has called back for about 4 hours. 
I am essentially without email now. All my other folders are fine

Hello

I was using google chrome and then opened the bell email portal from that. Now as I stated earlier everything is working, email wise that is! Have a great day and good luck with your email issues!

This happens to me. Today I’ve had this message numerous times. Now it is showing only 3 of the emails sent to me today (April 23, 2023). The rest of my email box is blank, except for a message to manage my emails.  I am getting g fed up with “unexpected errors” and now missing emails.

I have had this same error, on and off, for a few days.  Using Firefox.  I have cleared my cache.  My windows (10) is up-to-date.

Fortunately, because Sympatico is so unreliable, I automatically transfer all incoming mail to a gmail address.  This should not be necessary.

How can I tell what error has occurred when I click send on an email and i get "An unexpected error has occurred"

The crazy thing is, the email sends just fine to the recipient, but when I click on my sent folder, it shows me my inbox - I can't see any sent emails.

Anyone else getting this?

  1. What are you using to access your Bell email? Bell Webmail with a browser, email client, computer, device, etc.
  2. Is this something new or has this been an ongoing problem?
  3. Have you rebooted your device or computer?
  4. Cleared cache, cookies, history previous saved data, etc.
  5. Have you verified your email minimum system requirements
  6. Checked for system or app updates?
  7. Have you tried to do any troubleshooting?
  8. Have you contacted Bell Customer Service Tech support?

That is exactly what I am getting!  "An unexpected error has occurred " when ever I try to send an email.  Usually it does send but it does not show up in my sent box.  Did you ever find a fix for this?  Thanks

Hi @DonnyB,

Unexpected errors are a common unwelcome feature of Bell webmail. Oftentimes the "unexpected errors" are associated with CTV updates interfering with webmail. Other times, who knows? I've given up complaining. I try to keep a copy of my email texts so that when unexpected errors occur, I won't lose what I've written and can create a new email. By the way, this is only one of the glitches in this version of Bell's email. Perhaps, your complaint will spark a change.

Which web browser are you using, and does this error occur in any other browsers? What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

Can you share which device you are using to access Bell Webmail?

Rebooted... closed all opened tabs of bell email... deleted cookies... history... called Bell tech... said server issue.. my returned equipment is acknowled but not yet credited... this seems a reduction or interrupted service level... almost extortion.... since composing and junk and drafts working but no access to inbox. Can't receive $ deposits or reply to unread emails in inbox... can't delete as unable to open inbox. Moved July 1st and had problems ever since.

I have been waiting for months for this matter to be resolved. Is there a problem with the server that no one else has ever had and no one else has ever had resolved. I have emailed the Sympatico department and still no one has resolved the issue which is a server issue.
