Webmail inbox gives message - An unexpected error has occurred

As of this morning at My Webmail gives a message "An unexpected error has occurred", the "My account" page shows (inbox 43) but the "inbox" says "empty email list". I am using a chrome browser and the same issue shows with firefox. I have logged a problem with the service desk who has escalated, but nobody has called back for about 4 hours. 
I am essentially without email now. All my other folders are fine

Thank you for the reply. Well I did the old standby, turn off completely, wait a few minutes and then did a cold restart.  It seemed not a complete update, but a partial windows update occurred, and then all was resolved and email was working as it should.

  1. What are you using to access your Bell email? Bell Webmail with a browser, email client, computer, device, etc.
  2. Is this something new or has this been an ongoing problem?
  3. Have you rebooted your device or computer?
  4. Cleared cache, cookies, history previous saved data, etc.
  5. Have you verified your email minimum system requirements
  6. Checked for system or app updates?
  7. Have you tried to do any troubleshooting?
  8. Have you contacted Bell Customer Service Tech support?

We just wanted to check in to see if you are still experiencing issues with your webmail?

The issue continues. I have logged a ticket with service desk, and they are looking at it at the server end.

Thank you for letting us know. Please keep the Community updated once you hear back about your ticket.

The last time I could see my inbox was on 10th January. I reported the issue on 11th January, followed up on 13th January then 14th January. All that I have heard is that there is probably a back-end issue and the service-desk rep could only apologize multiple times. Needless to say I am very frustrated. Can you please direct me on how to escalate to get it fixed. Each time I call I get told it will be another 24 hours but that has yet to occur.

Within a minute of starting to type an email draft, I get an error just saying "An unexpected error has occurred." Does anyone know what's happening?

Hey @Tee2. Welcome to the Bell Community, and thanks for your post.

In order for the Community to best assist can you clarify if you are using Bell Webmail, or a third party email client such as Outlook

If using Bell Webmail please share which browser/device you are using, and if you've been able to test on an alternate browser/device.

To get past the error message do you need to reboot completely, or does it go away on it's own?

Good Evening

I am using Bell Webmail and I have tried 3 different browsers Firefox, Google Chrome and also Edge and it does it with all. I never had this issue until Bell started to change the way our emails worked. Thinking within a year maybe 6 months. I even have lines down the left hand side of my emails when I forward them. Event using one email continuing to respond it ends up with so many lines down the left side. Fonts go wonky. All this started the same time. I like my bell account but if this keeps happening it doesn`t look very professional with everything that Bell has now changed. Then the final was the ERROR message. I`m at my wits end. I may have to go back to hotmail where everything was so easy to work and never any issues. Most of my volunteer day is wasted because of all the issues now. Also it happens at my home and my volunteer place. On my laptop and on a few desktops. So there is no computer or browser that is doing this its Bell. I tested everything that I could think of that would be asked of me before I put this message up.

I am so hoping you can help so that I do not have to switch providers as I cannot loose this many hours a day working like this.

Hello

I got the great "unexpected error has occurred" so nothing showing up in email on windows ten laptop. Email seems fine on my andriod phone. Suggestions on how to fix this??

The first thing to try is always to delete all Bell cookies, then log in and try again. Please let the forum know if that doesn't work and we can go from there.

That's interesting. Are you using a Microsoft browser or email client?
