Wi-Fi Pod Speed Tests

Up until recently I was getting between 300-600 mbps on my POD and Hub over wifi. (I don't have wired connections) However, I am at best getting around 150-200 mbps on my POD now (no change with the Hub, and there was no change to my set up).  I rebooted everything to see if it would make a difference, but it remains the same.    This has been going on for about a week, and measured at different times throughout the day.

When I run the Bell wifi checkup, it is showing a download speed of 1.8 gbps on the hub, and 1.5 gbps on the POD - with a strong signal to all my devices.  That said, I see no difference in the performance of any of my devices. I also note that the Bell wifi app is showing my devices are getting 2-3x the speed that I see when I run Speedtest or Fast.

I am curious as to why the POD speed connectivitiy has dropped in half, and why Bell keeps sending me promotions to upgrade my speed, when I can't even come close to getting the speed I pay for now.

Sorry but that's not an appropriate answer. It's not that it's not working, it's that it's not working as advertised because there is a weird bug putting a 200mpbs cap on download - I specify download because I can get up a 1gbps in upload through the pods. So we're not complaining because it's a bad setup, but because there is a bug that needs to be fixed, and that should have been fixed months ago. They're just neglecting their clients.

If you don’t care about having that bug fixed and proper download speed, that’s fine for you, but clients should expect to have what’s advertised.

We have given you the answers we can, to the best of our ability. The Community Helpers are real people, not scripted answers or chatbots. None of us have any idea if or when there will be a response to user questions. Differing from @Vanadiel, I have five pods which work seamlessly. There are no symptoms of low speed issues such as freezing or jerkiness. Generally, I have no worries about my connection speed and don't chase speed. We do a lot of video work in this house including recording of TV programs for broadcast, and again, no issues.

Have you done a speed test? Once again, we’re not saying they’re not working or that there’s freezing or whatever. Just speed.

It was not meant as an answer to the problem. It was a personal opinion I shared.

Not very useful then.

Respectfully, we've acknowledged all previous points. At this stage, let’s avoid hypotheticals, speculation on speed limitations, or comparisons to other setups.

The focus here is the ongoing issue of Wi-Fi 6E pods being capped at 200 Mbps—a problem that has persisted for around four months with no resolution in sight.

Moderators, is it possible to escalate this to someone who can provide a concrete update or roadmap with estimated timelines? Should we expect a fix sometime this year, or are we looking at an indefinite delay?

Also, to everyone not experiencing the issue (i.e., those with Gigahub or unaffected setups), we appreciate your input, but please allow this thread to remain focused for those impacted.

Lastly, can the "SOLVED" tag on this thread be removed? If that’s not possible, should we create a new thread summarizing all the key findings and updates to date?

Thanks again to everyone who's contributed constructively.

I have done many speed tests. They vary. I don't need a 3 Gb profile speed at the end of the pod chain to obtain a satisfactory connection.

No one is expecting that, but we’re experiencing a 200mps cap. Tests never vary, it always caps 200mps.

Thanks for sharing your insights. However, this thread is specifically focused on the issue of Wi-Fi 6E pods being capped at 200 Mbps, which has been ongoing for several months without resolution.

If you're not experiencing this issue, please refrain from posting here. Staying on topic will help moderators provide the necessary updates and support to those affected. Your cooperation by not responding further would be very helpful in keeping the thread clear for relevant input.

Thanks for understanding!

I'm on a non 6E pod but giga hug at 3gps plan. Still called at 200mpbs and advertised speed is 500mpbs for original WiFi pod... 😭

@BellDRock  thank you for your post, but clearly the community is frustrated and is sending a clear message that we are paying for a service and request a better response from Bell.  It took Bell 3 months to admit there was an issue, as this problem surfaced going on 5 months. With respect to community guidelines, there are clearly posts on this thread that are not helpful and inflame the community, but yet allowed to stand.  We are paying customers and demand better than vague responses or opinions.

Thank you for the response, but it doesn't directly address the points I raised.
Specifically, I asked for clarification on the ongoing issue with the 200 Mbps cap on Wi-Fi 6E pods, including whether there is a concrete timeline for a fix, or if we can expect further delays. There was also a request to escalate the issue for an update from someone who can provide a definitive answer, as it’s been four months with no real progress.
I understand the reference to March 17th, but we're still in the dark on next steps and timelines. Could someone provide more specifics on where this investigation stands and if a resolution is coming anytime soon? I’d also like to reiterate the suggestion to remove the “SOLVED” tag, as this issue is clearly ongoing.
Thanks again for your help and attention to this matter.
