FM Radio

Does anyone know who disabled the FM radio (actual radio, NOT streaming) chip on my Samsung Galaxy? It used to work great. Nobody (Samsung, NextRadio app, Bell) seems to want to take responsibility but someone did it...

I used to use this feature all the time on an old device, great for hiking.  From what I learned there are multiple issues why NextRadio won't work.

  • Their website seems to be gone as I can't access it at all, even the link from the app store doesn't work so that is not a good sign.
  • After the android 11 update, the app stopped working as its not compatible
  • Not using wired headphones
  • Heard a samsung radio app is only installed on Australian devices (my note is not even on their list of  including the transmitter, its only the A models and a couple of x cover)

Future of NextRadio is looking bleak.   New phones these days have done away with the headphone jack and the blue tooth ones/wireless are not compatible as they don't have the wire that picked up the signal.  Until phone manufactures include an antenna in the phone or bring back the jack or on old devices that NextRadio updates to be compatible with software updates we are stuck with streaming radio only.
