Incorrect number showing up when texting

Why is my phone number showing up incorrectly for the recipients of my texts and how do I change it?  I just joined Bell a week ago, received a temporary phone number, and got my existing phone number ported over. Now when a new person receives a text from me it shows that it is still coming from my temporary phone number that shouldn't exist anymore.

I got a new phone and number, my wife calls and i believe it’s going to my old phone/sim(or tries too). She has to FaceTime audio call my new number to get ahold of me. It allows other calls. Her calls won’t come through. Says hang up and try call again.

I also changed recently to Bell and kept my old number from another provider and when i text others it shows my temp number

I’ll check for messages. So I guess it’s eastlink users that can’t call me. My wife, the eastlink store and employee, as well as john

I'm having the same problem BellKris, telus to hello but the number coming up hasn't switched over. I have tried the suggestion above about changing the chat and restarted the phone but that didn't work.

Having the same issue. I've attempted to follow the steps outlined by clearing the cache, but now the correct number is showing under RCS chats but my phone number is not able to be verified? Next steps??

Same Issue. 

The temp number was removed but it now cannot verify my original number.

I switched to Bell yesterday from Telus and did the transfer online with an e-sim. My current number ported fine but having the same issue many here are experiencing. The RCS chat is still using the temporary number that was provided. I have tried EVERYTHING recommended here and elsewhere and nothing is working. It was suggested the only way to resolve it is with a new sim or e-sim. Please advise.  

Please disregard. Only after clearing both the cache AND data from the google messaging app did the RCS update with the correct number.
