Hi,
I am having problem to have a verification code on my phone number. My whatsapp account is not working, saying that my account cannot be activated on this phone number, well I was using whatsapp from the same ohkne number from 2 months. In the last when i am trying to verify my account , I am nit getting verification code to the phone number.
kindly help me out from this situation.

I am trying to sign up to online dating and I am not recieving the confirmation text from either match or tinder but I've recieved a confirmation text from bell when I signed up to mybell, maybe I just can't recieve texts from international numbers even though I have unlimited Canada, US, and international texts in my contract.

Today I bought a new iPhone 15plus and a new line. everything seemed fine but then this whats app verification code thing was not a pleasant experience. I have tried everything mentioned in the previous posts but still, I cannot receive code from whats app, even not getting any code via call method. Please Help

Of particular importance would be to make sure with any services not operating within Canada is if they support 2FA with international numbers, or only those in their home country.

To be clear, are you only having issues with WhatsApp 2FA? Or are you having issues with any other services that make use of 2FA? If the former, you will need to speak with WhatsApp as advised in our original reply. We're unable to assist with issues in regards to specific services or apps. If the latter, please let the Community know which services and/or apps you are specifically having issues with.

I have the same problem and I can’t find anybody who can explain why.
I can’t receive texts from any international number even if I’m here in Canada.

Could you clarify a bit as to nobody being able to explain why? This way the Community will be better able to assist.
- Have you spoken to Tech Support and opened a ticket to investigate further?
- You said you can't receive international text messages - what about sending them? What about calls?
- Have you replaced your SIM card? Have you inserted your SIM into another phone for testing?
- Is this only for 2FA as other users in this thread have brought up, or for messages in general?
- What exactly do you mean nobody can explain why? What have you been told previously by agents?

cannot get verification code on Bell prepaid. Is this being blocked

Hello Bell - I have just encountered the same issue - have added my new Canadian Bell number to an overseas bank and they confirmation SMS never comes thru. How has this been resolved for others. I need this to work for me,

Hi bell - I have checked the other replies on this thread and there is nothing that helps me. I also know that the sender of the SMS (A UK based bank) has no issues sending SMS to overseas clients. I was previously in another county and had no issues. How were the other situations on this thread resolved?

- Is this only for 2FA as other users in this thread have brought up, or for messages in general? 2FA is my issue so far as others have bought up - personal SMS seems ok - that's why i posted here as it appears the same issue.

Thanks for the details @Ali82 and @JPM ,
You can try sending a text message to the short code 28849 with either the word INFO or HELP. This should reset the 2FA routing to your device. The routing reset may take 24 to 48 hours to complete. When completing the test, if you receive a response, you do not need to do anything, it will mean that your text authentication service is set up properly and you will need to reach out to your bank for further verifications.

Thanks. It didn’t help however. Basic question: under normal circumstances, should I be able to receive texts from parties abroad while I’m in Canada? I could understand if I couldn’t send to international accounts, but receiving shouldn’t be a problem, correct?
