Can I recover deleted recordings from HDPVR?

Hello,

Has anyone an idea how I can retrieve my 88 pvr recordings after a PVR update to 4k? The Bell technician told me everything is stored on "Bell's cloud" which I learned is non existent .

Called Bell support 3 times but they all claimed the recordings are stored on the PVR directly and there's no way to get them back.

Read on the Internet though that Bell stores them for 45 days on their servers???

Thanks

Officially, nah. But some people on other platforms repeatedly said they can swap the disk and keep the recordings without any consequence. Not sure if it works when activating a replacement.

I have a 9241 PVR and discoverd that all the recordings are lost, what could have happened and is there anyway of getting them back?

How to restore deleted recordings on a Bell 9242 satellite receiver from its internal hard drive.

  • Two nights ago there was an update as the TV app froze and and forced an update.

Initially after the update there wasn’t any PVR service available and when service was restored all my previously recorded PVR shows were gone.

what’s going on and when can I expect my PVR saved items to be restored??

I accidentally deleted a PVR recording I wanted from my Bell Fibe.

Is there any way to recover back?

Once a recording is erased, it is not recoverable. If it is something recent, you can try to go back, do a search for another viewing date & time or see if it is playing on a different station at a later date.

Hi,

Does anyone know how I can access the trash bin on my pvr? I accidentally deleted a recording that I want back.

I have Fibe tv with voice control remote.

I looked on the Fibe app as well but I cannot find it anywhere.

It saying that they are not permanently deleted until 60 days after but I cannot for the life of me, find where that list is.

Thanks,

G.

Good Day.

Sorry., once it is deleted, it is gone. You can not retrieve a permanently deleted recording. Recordings will remain available for 60 days, just as long as you do not delete them yourself!

As you mentioned in your question, you accidently deleted the recording. There is no trash bin to recover this recording from.

Thank you for reaching out to the Bell Community Forum.

Take care.

I just got a replacement 4K receiver. Can I save all my settings and recordings

Good day.

Which receiver do you have? VIP5662w HD PVR or VIP7802?

If you have a VIP 5662w HD PVR & it is replaced, all of your recordings are permanently lost.

There is nothing you can do to save any of your settings. If you have access to your Favourite or  Menu settings, you can record them for ease of use in setting up your replacement.

You will not loose any information that you have stored in your PVR Series settings & that you have scheduled to record in the future.

You will need to set up most items in your Menu > Settings. E.g. Customize Guide, Favourites, audio & visual,  parental controls, etc.

The VIP 7802 box stores it's recordings on the Cloud PVR. These will not be lost unless you choose to delete them or the storage time & capacity storage space limits have reached their maximum.

Thank you for posting your question.

Take care.

I am to receive a new receiver today. When I install it will I lose all my recorded shows that were from the old receiver or are they stored in a cloud?

Hi there @ARM1,

Welcome to the Bell Community.

Can you clarify which TV receiver you were using, and which receiver you upgraded to?

Thank you,

- Patricia

I got 101 error codes, which has happened before but after i rebooted the screen was different black with a grey gear symbol and loading bar, then two gear symbol but it just kept loading then i restarted pvr again by rebooting pvr only got the gears again, rebooted pvr and modem again  and lost all my recordings when pvr came back. Now I wish I let the first reboot to finish with gears.  I tried rebooting the pvr again still no recordings.  Also on bell app on my tablet is showing the recording storage 40% is used, yet I cant see any recordings on the main and second receiver nor on tablet

Just upgraded to 4k.  All my recordings disappeared.  Talked to a tech on the bell support line and he said there is no way to get the recordings back.  Lost forever.  If the tech who came and installed the 4k told me the recordings would be lost, I could have pulled up the list of recordings (over a hundred) and recorded the list on my phone.  That way, over time, I could re-record my favourites.

This is HORRIFIC service!

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.

Unfortunately that is correct. There is no way to recover recordings that are stored on any Bell Fibe PVR if the equipment is changed out or replaced. The VIP7802 Fibe box will store recordings on the Cloud PVR for 60 days.

Assuming you have the storage space, you can download & access recordings from the PVR for off line viewing with the Fibe TV app. You would not be able to keep them for perpetuity as they are only available for 60 days after which they expire.

I am not aware of any method on Bell Fibe that would enable you to re-record downloaded recordings from your mobile device.

Take care.
