Hi there @stannyboyc ,
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.
The model 6500 does not have a PVR in it. The current model we have available with PVR capabilities is our Whole Home PVROpens in a new tab or window(model 9500).
Community is here if you have any further questions.

Thanks so much for the answer. Stan.

We have updated our Satellite receiver to HD 6500 as suggested

we cannot seem to use the PVR on remote as it keeps asking us to choose start and end times which do not populate

Page https://support.bell.ca/tv/receivers/satellite-tv.how_to_record_a_program_while_watching_something states that the 6500 receiver can record a program while watching, or, like our old receiver, hit pause so it records while you are out of the room. This is not the case; hitting record does nothing. Annoying to have to "upgrade" our satellite receiver only to have it have less functionality. Unless I am missing something!

Replying to myself... This is unacceptable, swapping out my old receiver with a PVR for one that doesn't. A PVR is one of the only reasons I have stuck to the expensive satellite service. I will talk to Bell on Monday, either I get a receiver with a PVR, or I will cancel. Don't tell me you are giving me a better receiver, which is worse.

How do I view recorded programs on Bell 6500?

I have just received the HD replacement for my 4100 SD receiver.  Very disappointed in the fact that I am unable to record with this new receiver and also unable to use an external hard drive. Can BELL exchange this device for one that will at least support an external hard drive?  The information provided by Bell on their site would tend to indicate that the 6500 is a full-featured device but in essence it is the cheapest receiver one can use.  It would not have cost that much to provide the support for an external hard drive.  Could this be an update in the near future?

I just want to add my voice to those disappointed that the 6500 units sent to replace our now defunct SD units cannot be upgraded to a PVR by adding our USB hard drives. At the same time that I submitted my request to replace the units, I ordered two of the remote controls that were presented on the same page an an option - the remote with the PVR buttons on it!!!!!!! Another $60 wasted. Thanks!!!!!

Hi there @REB823
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.
We wanted to check in and ask if you have tried contacting our customer care team to discuss about upgrading the receiver to a PVR model?

Looking forward to hearing back.

I just received a new updated receiver 6500 and a new remote and the PVR function won't work. Any ideas?

I received my updated receivers, But can no longer PVR with my system. What can you do for me?

I have installed my new hd receiver. Does it have a pvr?

After hooking up the new updated receiver the pvr does absolutely nothing. Also disappointed that it only will run one tv. Seems like a downgrade to me.

Wdym by “does absolutely nothing”? And  “only will run one tv”? You can simply unplug the current tv and replug it to another one.
