Good Day.

Fibe TV will revert to the last channel viewed when you turn the receiver on.

If you have more than one receiver or box, when they are powered on, the viewing channel that comes up on your screen will also be the last channel viewed on that specific receiver or box. It may not be the same channel that you were watching on another TV unless of course it is the same channel you watched last time on that TV.

There is an additional last button channel feature on remotes for the VIP5662 HD PVR & the 2502 wireless receiver. This will also take you to the last 5 channels viewed.

As is the case with everything in life, there may be some exceptions or anomalies.

Thank you for posting your question.

Take care.

There is no setting perse to turn on a specific channel at startup. When you turn your Fibe TV pvr on, it will return to the last channel you were viewing when you turn it off. This may or may not be the specific channel that you wish to watch.

Good day @Esum,
Thank you for reaching out to the Bell Community.
Currently, there are no settings available for the Fibe TV Box (7802) to be tuned into a certain station when it is powered on.
Please let the Community know if you have any other questions.
Have a nice day 🙂

What kind of box are you using?

There is no specific setting on the Android box that I can find...it just does that behavior by default.

Hi,

It doesn't go on the last channel if you were last on Netflix.  That is why I was having the problem.

Good Day.

Which receiver & device are you using to access Netflix? VIP5662 HD PVR or VIP 7802 Fibe Box  Are accessing Netflix using an App or from a 3rd party equipment? Bell Streamer?

As I mentioned in my earlier reply, there may be some exceptions or anomalies. Life is like that. Today is not yesterday & it is certainly not tomorrow. There is no hard & fast rule that will cover every specific example that can be raised.

The Netflix app is only available on some Fibe TV HD receivers & boxes. It is still available as a channel & as an App on the VIP5662. If you select Channel 1311, you will need to login & store your Netflix credentials. If you select it in Apps, it will not be a last channel. If you can select it as channel in the Guide, it will show up as one of your last 5 channels previously selected & stored. You will be able to go back in to Netflix. Your login information will be stored & you will receive a couple of notification that you must approve in order to move forward after your channel selection.

It is also available as an app on the VIP 7802 & on the Bell Streamer. It is also supported on third party equipment such as Firestick, Chromecast or Apple TV.

If it is not a channel selection, then you can not go back & select Netflix as a last channel.

Thank you for posting your comment.

You can try to set up some automated procedures with another android device.

We had three 7802 receivers installed a week ago and for the first few days they worked fine. Then one day when I turned it on the screen showed the Home screen instead of the last channel I'd been watching. I was on the phone for 45 mins with Bell, rebooting the box and then doing a factory reset but nothing worked. They said it must be the receiver so they're sending out a new one. Now I've discovered all three receivers are doing the same thing, so replacing that one receiver probably won't fix it. Is there a setting somewhere that will let the tv turn on to the last channel watched? I've read the posts that say it's set up to do that automatically, and it worked that way for a few days, but now it doesn't. It always goes directly to the home screen.

Good Day.

The Bell Community Forum is a peer-to-peer site. As such we do not have access to your account & equipment records.

Fibe TV will revert to the last channel viewed when you turn the receiver on. There is no setting per se to turn this feature on or off.

There will always be some exceptions or anomalies to what I said earlier. For example, Netflix is an app and can also be a channel (1311) on some receivers. If you are watching an app on one, you can continue on another as long s your credentials are stored for Netflix. It will not take you back to where you were. Netflix does that for you. Apps are not last channel. They can be if they are a channel. If is a channel, then it will be your last channel as long as it not been selected as an app

Are all of your receivers VIP7802 or would you also have Bell Streamers? Are you experiencing this issue with all three receivers & remotes? Have you by chance interchanged one of your remote with another one that is matched to one of the other receivers & tv's?

If you have more than one receiver or box, when they are powered on, the viewing channel that comes up on your screen will also be the last channel viewed on that specific receiver or box. It may not be the same channel that you were watching on another TV unless of course it is the same channel you watched last time on that TV.

Selecting On demand is another example of last channel not necessarily returning to where you were on one receiver & accessing the same program on a different receiver.

I do not believe you have any problem with your receivers. It may be something so simple as understanding how Fibe TV & your  receivers inner act with each other.

Thank you for replying. Yes, all our receivers are VIP 7802. No streamer. The same thing is happening on all three receivers. The remotes are all used only with the tv they're paired with and haven't been switched. I've read all the instructions and help articles I can find and nothing refers to this problem. I was on the phone with Bell for 45 mins and they were unable to find a reason for it, or any way to fix it. Everything I read says when I turn the tv on it will automatically go to the last channel I was watching. And it did that for the first few days after installation, but then it started going directly to the Home page no matter what channel I was watching. If I watch CTV or any other channel all evening and turn it off on that channel, it still turns on to the Home page. Always the Home page. I'm not sure what to do next.

Out of curiousity, what software version is your VIP7802 running?

Settings - Device Settings - Device Preferences - About.  Is the version 10 or 11?

Is there a way to set a Fibe pvr to turn on to a specific channel, e.g. CNN? I've searched Bell support and the internet and have not been able to find an answer. Thank you

Thank you for this. I do think it's good to have that information here. The longer story is that I have used a programmable remote for years so it's never been an issue for me. I was helping another Fibe customer set up favourites etc. and the question came up.

In the past with the older Fibe tv pvr.. You can press the power button and it'll start up at its last known channel, but now with this new Fibe cloud pvr.. It starts off at the home screen or the bell guide rather then the last Channel on.

How do I set it up so I can turn on the pvr and go straight to the last channel rather then to the guide or home screen? So inconvenient when I want a quick Start of my channels
