Issue with Whole home 9500 and 7500 satellite PVRs during pause or skip forward.

I have Whole home 9500 and 7500 satellite PVRs. A few weeks ago I started to notice that if I paused a recording for more than a few minutes, playback went to the beginning of the recording. Now if I skip forward it also returns to the start of the recording and goes to pause. FF is also behaving weird. This is happening on both units and remotes.

Thank you for your questions. There are some things you can do to start.

  • Change the batteries in the receiver's remotes. Replace them with fresh, good quality alkaline batteries. I like Energizer Industrial alkaline batteries in all my electronics as they seem to last a long time and have never leaked. I have found them at electrical supply houses or hardware stores. They come in a cardboard sleeve and not plastic packaging, which is an environmental bonus. And always send used batteries to your local electronic or household hazardous waste recycling if it is available to you.
  • Reboot your receivers. The easiest way to do that is to power cycle them. The instructions for your receivers are here . This is NOT a factory reset, so all your settings and recordings will be saved.
