VIP7802 / Streamer - Apple TV App

I tried to install the Apple TV app on the Bell Streamer form Google Play Store, but it reports that the Apple TV app is not compatible with the device (Bell Streamer).  

Has anyone been able to install the Apple TV app on their Bell Streamer?   I can install the Apple TV app on my Chromecast with Google TV.   Disappointed that the Bell Streamer is not a normal Google TV box like it claims to be.

You're correct, the Apple TV app is currently not supported on the Bell Streamer.

I'm bringing back this old thread, to ask if there is any progress on supporting the Apple TV app. I have it on my Roku Express player but I'd prefer to have it on the Streamer.

The Apple TV app is not currently supported on the Fibe TV Box (7802). If there are any updates or changes to this we'll let you know here in the Community 🙂

Any progress on the following? Apple TV can be installed on the Android TV without any issue, I don’t get why it’s not compatible with your Streamer device.

Apple TV app’s review on Google Play is merely one star. Although the TV+ has a similar size of Canadian market share like Paramount +, the latter’s app is available. I think it might be Apple wanna booster their native platform instead.

I’ve recently swapped out our receivers for new 7802 models, and I’ve set up apps to link to our Netflix and Amazon Prime services.  I’d like to link in our Apple TV service the same way, and while I can find an Apple TV app on the Google Play store when I access it via tablet, I can’t find an Apple TV app on the Google Play store when I access it via Fibe.   Is there a licensing issue between Apple and Bell that prevents us from accessing Apple TV through Fibe or am I just looking for the app in the wrong way ?

So I was setting up my brand new Bell streamer box this weekend.  Logged in my Netlfix, Crunchyroll, Crave, Disney, etc... Then I wanted to add my Apple TV + account, and, boo hoo,  it's not there...  That's weird since Apple TV+ is usually available on the Google Play store.  So two questions:  Is Bell working on getting the app available on their box, and, in the mean time, is someone was able to cast their iphone or ipad on the built in chormecast?  I could use a fire stick or my old apple tv box, but I was hoping of getting rid of the extra equiments and use them on another tv in the house.  Otherwise, great job with your tv box.  Really glad I went back with Bell 🙂

If there’s no “chromecast” option in the app, then nah. You can try casting from Chrome browsers.

Any idea of when it would be made available? Or put the fibe tv app available on Roku?!

I suspect that the appropriate Bell team hasn't made a successful internal business case to have the TV app on the Roku platform.

Why there's no Apple TV on the Streamer is puzzling. Maybe Apple hasn't yet provided the solution to Bell (SDK; API)? Until Bell comments officially, this is just speculation.

Good news: this month I found out the Apple TV app became available on Bell Streamer. The updated date says Oct. 5. It’s still not available on any other bell boxes.
