Voice Commands and Remote Not Working

My Bell remote with voice commands does not work AT ALL! I have the newest model of streamer box and remote. 

I received a new box and remote to try and fix the problem..and still no luck.  I am brand new to Bell, from Rogers, and I am very disappointed.  Their voice remote works flawlessly. 

No matter what I say...there is no response.  Occasionally, if I stand right next to the box (inches away) it might pick up a word. 

Am I the only one having this problem?  My technician told me that all the boxes do not work.  Is this true? Very upsetting.

Just had this issue in 2024. Followed someone's instructions re: unpairing the remote and repairing and it works...for now. I've been unable to use the voice feature for months.

Mine seems to be working just fine lately,I guess it fixed itself, only after the installation it didn't work for a while but after about a month it seemed to all of a sudden started working and has ever since for the past five months

I’m having the same issue.  Changed battries, unpaired and repaired…no change

Getting error code 2000, rcu not connected by Bluetooth.  Remote works everything except voice commands

Yes, used some of the suggestions - changed batteries and repaired the remote.  I know now that every time the power goes off (which is quite frequent here in Bells Corners, I have to repair the remote or reset the Bell box.  

What I found (and the only way) to make it work was to NOT sign-in to Google.  When I sign-in, the Google Assistant gets all screwy.  It's obviously some flaw with the Bell Fibe box.  Some of my streaming app playbacks get all glitch too, which does not happen when using apps on the Firestick or my PS5.   Now I only sign-in if I need to update apps.

What color LED light do you see at the top of the remote when you press a button (green, red or nothing)?
Have you tried rebooting your receiver?
Are you able to share a picture of the error that you are receiving?
Does the error appear all the time or does it only appear when you press the microphone button to use the voice commands?

I am also having the same issue. The mic just stopped working. It used to have a red light next to “mic” but nothing now. I am new to Bell (not even 2 months yet) and nothing but issues. Why can’t Bell get things working and stay working? I am so fed up with Bell. Sorry but I thought Rogers was bad but Bell takes the first prize for unreliability!

Bell just seems to want the customer to fix everything, unplug and plug back in, use the virtual repair tool, go to the Bell store and switch the modem, and if you want a tech to come out Bell charges the customer to fix their equipment? I am so sick and tired of self serve.

Are you having trouble with any other of the remote functions (such as controlling the volume or changing channels)?

To troubleshoot you can start by replacing the batteries.

If you are still having trouble after that you can can also try resetting your remote control to factory settings. Note: the remote will no longer control the TV and audio devices you have programmed so you would need to reprogram them.

Here are the steps to reset your remote:

  • Select Settings from the home screen.
  • Scroll down to the Support section and select Remote Settings.
  • Select Reset. *Now that the remote has been reset to factory settings, the next steps will guide you through programming the remote using the appropriate code.

So now on the VIP7802 all voice commands stopped working and Youtube won't even open- either via voice commands or clicking on the app.  Just goes to a blank screen. (and yes I rebooted).

 

I’ve been using Google Assitant to switch to channels, using commands like “Go to BBC News”.  But now, for some reason, the Google Assistant opens only YouTube. Is there a way to fix this?
