Hi, I have the same error code, it's a scam there's nothing wrong with my dish, it's ridiculous that bell does this. I upgraded to hd because I had to, now can't get the programming I've paid for.

Hi there @Eric1983
Thank you for your post and welcome to the Community.
Are you able to share what model(s) receiver you have?
Do you have more than one receiver and if yes, are you seeing this error appear on all of them?
Looking forward to hearing back.

6500. Called bell zero assistance. No idea if the issue. Even though there are hundreds of people with same issue. There solution is to send a tech and blame the lines. Horrible.

Hi there @Debbie1,
Error 004 indicates that an issue was detected on the Multidish switch, and if it cannot be resolved remotely a technician visit is necessary.
We invite you to keep us posted on how everything goes.
The Community will be here for you if you need anything else,

I received my HD receiver to replace the old SD i was using. I followed the instructions on how to install the new receiver. The new receiver has two satellite input connections where the old receiver only had one. The new receiver was shipped with a splitter which I installed. During the set up the receiver stops at 40% complete and says there is no satellite dish connected. I checked the point dish signal in the installation menu it indicated 90% signal on input 1 and 0% on input 2. Since I only really have one input which is split into two, I suspected the splitter was defective. I used an ohm meter to test it and got continuity on the input 1 side and open circuit on the input 2 side. Is my suspicion of a defective splitter correct?

I really starting to despise bell. Was forced to upgrade to HD receiver I'm literally ready to through all bells product out the door. I've been two hours trying to setup of this thing at it keeps stopping at 49 percent. I'm beyond ready to get rid of these products. Worst company I have ever dealt with

Can you provide more information, please? What service are you referring to? Bell Satellite TV or Bell Fibe TV? Can you say what menu you are at in the setup process? More details would be helpful.

Error 004 and Bell has to send technician to fix the problem on the new 6500 receiver we have been required to get by Bell to replace the now obsolete 4900. Bell says I have to pay for the technician! That makes zero sense. The problem is with their equipment and not on my end or anything I did. Why is the consumer forced to pay for their faulty equipment when I already pay enough for satellite services?

Just do a check switch, then hold the power button on the front to do a soft reset, should download what is needed
