Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.

@Spencer Brent We cannot seasonally suspend your account on the Bell Community Forum. This is a peer-to-peer website. As such, we do not have access to your account & billing details.

If you wish to suspend your services, you can do so from between one month and six months. I have included all of the pertinent details for you below.

A one-time suspension charge of $49 will be applied to your next bill. There is no additional charge when your service suspension ends, and your services are restored. Monthly service charges will be prorated within 1–2 billing cycles. The amount depends on the dates when the suspension takes effect and when it ends.  Monthly rental charges (for example if you rent-to-own a TV receiver) will continue to apply as per the terms of service.

The following web link will be of assistance to you if you wish to suspend a service.

Good Day.

This is a community forum, a peer-to-peer website. As such, we do not have access to your account  & billing information.

If you were billed 3 x $49.00 for TV & Internet, the charges do not appear to match the suspended services. Can you reconfirm the billable services that are listed on your MyBell One Bill account?

Billing issues such as this, cannot be resolved on the Bell community forum. I would suggest that you contact Bell Customer Service accounts and billing & speak to representative. She should be able to explain these charges. If Bell made a mistake and overcharged you, they will make the necessary adjustments & credit your account. Please call 1 866 310-BELL (2355) or dial *611 from any Bell mobile device.

I called and asked today. It's January 2025! Bell charges $30 per every month before tax!!! just to hold a number! Basically $35 for suspending the account per every month!! unbelievable rip-off. I think the citizens of all other countries would be stunned to know how much Canadians pay for Phone plans! Roaming is calculated per day.

Hello,

we are going on vacation for next couple of months and wanted to know how we can put our internet on temporary disconnect service.

we are based in toronto. We would like to know about the charges and process to do this.

thank you

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.

We cannot seasonally suspend your account on the Bell Community Forum. This is a peer-to-peer website. As such, we do not have access to your account & billing details.

In MyBell, you can temporarily suspend your TV, Internet and Home phone services when they are not needed.

Set up a temporary service suspension

  1. Select the services to suspend.
  2. Choose your start and end dates.
  3. Select Continue.
  4. Review the request and select Submit.

The suspension takes effect between 12 a.m. and 8 a.m. on the requested day.

I’m leaving a country for 6 months, I don’t want to continue paying for my services. Can I freeze my phone number so I won’t loose it? If not, how can I cancel it? I can’t call Bell directly

Good Day & Welcome to the Bell Community Forum.

Which mobility plan do you subscribe to? Is this a Monthly plan or a Prepaid plan? Are you on a SmartPay 2 yr. rate plan? Have you reviewed your mobility agreement? Prepaid customers cannot temporarily suspend their mobile service.

If you have a SmartPay 2-yr contract, you are still responsible for the monthly SmartPay payments even if your Bell Mobility service is suspended.

Depending on your plan & your mobility agreement you may not be able to suspend your service.

A suspension of your services does not equate to a stoppage in billing. A one-time suspension charge of $49 will be applied to your next bill. Monthly service charges will be prorated within 1–2 billing cycles.

In order to suspend or cancel your service, you will need to contact Bell Mobility. If you wish to do so, you can call Bell Mobility at: 1 800 667-0123 or  *611 from any Bell mobile device.

The following web link will be of assistance to you if you wish to suspend a service.

Dear Bell Fibe Internet Experts,

I am currently using Fibe 150 at home and will be on vacation for 3 months starting in June.

Is there a way to temporarily suspend my internet service during this period so that I don’t have to pay for the service while it’s not in use?

Thank you!

Important for users to know that currently Bell does not stop billing on suspension of mobility plans.  You may notice their absence on the flat $49 fee listed under your MyBell account due to this distinction.  You can stop billing of your internet for example, but not any mobility line.  I honestly can't think of another service that will happily suspend services but continue to bill the at the same rate, but that's currently the situation.  1 hour on the phone to confirm this.
