All channels on my new Samsung TV look way better when Bell's 4k PVR resolution is set to 4K, every time you turn the TV off and back on the PVR resolution drops to 1080 which forces me to manually adjust back to 4K (select Menu , Settings, Resolution and select 4K) , this is quite annoying as it has to be done every time you turn the TV on, I called Bell, they sent a technician who swapped the PVR but the problems continues , called Bell again to be told that the boxes are programmed to default to 1080 resolution , is there an solution and/or logical explanation for this, the boxes should retain the resolution they are set at , this is not right ?

Wdym by “full page scrolling on the guide”? The only difference I can recall between guides of the 7802 and 5662 boxes is that the new one no longer has the small preview window.

Hi AlexS , it was actually @Larry1 @who mentioned the full page guide scrolling, but I think that he means that while in the guide, it cannot scroll a page at a time. I notice that you mentioned that the preview box is not there while in the guide. Is there any preview at all in the guide? Some boxes have a preview box, but only shows the channel which you are currently on.

Greetings all. I have arranged to have the 7802 installed next week. That will give me a chance to flush out the known problems and cancel the install if necessary. Can anyone tell me why I shouldn’t get this thing installed? Right off the bat not being able to scroll through the guide a page at a time is a deal breaker if I’ve read the posts properly. I’m totally fed up with the 5662 so this is a last ditch effort before I make major changes if you catch my drift. Thanks in advance!

Yeah, but Bell simply sends notifications to everyone who has replied to this thread lol.
It actually can. Just long press the fast forward or the backward button on the Voice Remote if he meant to flip to another day. If it’s verticals, the channel up and down buttons work the same way as the older remote. Same location on the remote though the buttons don’t look the same as they were on the two slim remotes.
If you two still have the old remote, the Bluetooth Slim definitely works on the 7802 box. I have never had any Slim Remote.
Not in the usual guide. You have to go to the page where you set up a customized guide to preview channels on 7802, if you really want to. But I believe the box will lose the buffer from the current channel.

I am having this exact same issue for a year know, with Samsung QN85B and VIP5662W. Tried multiple certified HDMI 2.1 cables, now on a third box (second one they sent me was refurbished and was switching itself off and was useless).
If I read this correctly, there is not and will not be a solution for this.
I asked for a new cloud PVR, but they want to charge me a monthly fee for it, and I haven't seen many responses here whether there are issues (not just this one, but any) with that box.

You can cancel and let someone else under the same household register as a new customer next Black Friday, Cyber Monday or whenever you get great deals from salespeople. I believe now Bell no longer offers prepaid Visa card.

Hello, after 10 months with the same resolution problem that returns in ds 4x3, as well as loss of TV signal with the 5662 to the hub 3000, restart of the 5662 regularly for long minutes without images, I changed all the equipment of Bell, that is to say, hub 3000 for hub 4000 giga, and vip5662 receiver for 7802, since this change no problem of resolution at restart, on the other hand I had read that there was some problems of sound interruption and sporadic image shutdown with the 7802! And unfortunately it's true!!! So the choice to make is to pay more for these changes with cut! Or stay with an old device and change the resolution each time you open your TV!

Hi Mike60 That really sux. Bell should do better than that. I thought that with the change you made, it was supposed to cut the cost a bit. In my case, the last time I called about it, the tech asked if he could do one last thing. He did a firmware update, and master reset. I think it was in September. Since then, it stays at 1080p, which is not so bad, considering that most things that Bell sends is at 720. Maybe you should call them and say that you want your old box back. There is no reason why it should cost more. Was it a typo when you wrote “with cut”?

I just upgraded my tv to Samsung S95B last month. I have a 4k pvr VIP5662W.
But every time I restart the tv, the tv resolution go back to 480p or 1080p. And looks bad.
Even though I already set the TV resolution to 4K in the PVR settings.
It's very annoying that every time I watch tv I have to manually reset the pvr to 4K.
I even tried a premium HDMI 2.1 cable, no dice.
If I can't resolve this issue, I might be going back to tvbox.
Any help would be appreciated.

I just went through the whole 12 pages.
Looks a known issue since last year, there's no solution at all.
Either upgrade the PVR with more charge or just cut the cable.
lol

Call Bell and ask them to do a master reset/ firmware update. They did it for me, and it mostly stays at 1080p. That was in December

If it “mostly” stays at 1080 then it’s not a solution. The equipment in rubbish.

Yes, I agree. There should be a better solution. Here’s the thing. 1080 works for me, because I refuse to pay extra, for their 4K channels. Most of the stuff sent from Bell is at no more than 720 anyway.

Even watching 720p channels, 4k tv resolution look way better than 1080p.
Upscaling.
